Fashion Week 2015 backstage photos
I dipped into the fashion world last week with a number of shoots at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. First was a group portrait of the "Faces of NSW Fashion" for Destination NSW, then backstage coverage for designers Alice McCall, Kate Sylvester and Romance Was Born.
The group portrait took some planning, as we wanted it to be that glamorous Annie Leibovitz style scene, yet we'd only have about 10 minutes to shoot and couldn't confirm exactly who would turn up. Lucy Tweed dressed the space in Carriageworks and we worked together to plot out where people might sit and stand. After a couple of hours of set-up and testing our subjects filed in and I snapped away.
Shortly after starting I was told Collette Dinnigan had to leave and Rachael Finch was arriving, so we swapped them over.
We wrapped up and the space was quickly reset for a media call hosted by NSW Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events, Stuart Ayres. At the end of those formalities we did another group shot with the Minister included.
You can see for yourself how it all went down in this behind-the-scenes GoPro video.
